Row 7: sc2tog over 2 st. (1 sc).
[Yarn strands for the ties will be joined in this st.]

For 2nd earflap, join the yarn with sl st in marked st. Repeat the rows 1-7.

Finishing:
Add sc evenly with white yarn. Make sc2tog when turning. Add 3 sc into the point of each earflap. (In the image below, read as sc2tog, instead of 2 sc)

Ties:
Cut 5 strands of yarn approx. 24 inches long and pull them in a loop through the last sc of the earflap. Pull the ends of the yarn through this loop. Separate the yarn into three sections and braid them to desired length. Secure and cut yarn evenly on the ends. Repeat on the other side

Make a pom-pom and attach to the hat.

Cozy Comfort V Neck Vest

The Comfort V-Neck Vest is a simple, versatile crochet layering piece for kids. With its classic V-neck and comfortable fit, it can be worn over a shirt or top, or layered under a coat or sweater for extra warmth. The colors can be easily customized for boys or girls. It can also be made in a solid color with contrasting ribbing. I was planning to make a modern, color block cushion with the Furls Wander Yarn . When I received the yarn, I just fell in love with it. It's very soft, smooth and has satin like finish. I thought that it is more suitable for garments and I decided to design a basic V neck vest in kids sizes. And I am glad I did. The yarn creates beautiful garment that has great drape. There are so many colors to choose from. Get a print friendly pdf  here .
