Row 6: sc2tog over next 2 st st, twice. Ch 2, turn. (2 sc)

Row 7: sc2tog over 2 st. (1 sc).
[Yarn strands for the ties will be joined in this st.]

For 2nd earflap, join the yarn with sl st in marked st. Repeat the rows 1-7.

Finishing:
Add sc evenly with white yarn. Make sc2tog when turning. Add 3 sc into the point of each earflap. (In the image below, read as sc2tog, instead of 2 sc)

Ties:
Cut 5 strands of yarn approx. 24 inches long and pull them in a loop through the last sc of the earflap. Pull the ends of the yarn through this loop. Separate the yarn into three sections and braid them to desired length. Secure and cut yarn evenly on the ends. Repeat on the other side

Wanderlust ribbed beanie

It's a beginner friendly pattern that involves no increases or decreases. Beanie is worked flat in a rectangle, the the sides are sewn together and the top is closed. I have used Nako sports wool bulky yarn which is perfect for winter. It is 25% wool and 75% acrylic yarn, which provides sufficient warmth. In addition to that, wool provides strech and elasticity to the beanie. I would totally recommend wool-acrylic blend or 100% wool yarn for this project, but you can also use acrylic yarn. (Only adult sizes are available for free here on my blog. Paid pdf is available on Ravelry which includes all the sizes from preemie to adult large.) Check out the beanies made by my amazing testers. This cute little boy is a perfect model for this beanie.
