Crochet Market Bag

I had some DK weight cotton yarn in multiple colours. I crocheted this bag using 2 strands together (thickness similar to bulky weight yarn). This bag is very sturdy and you can carry heavy items. This pattern is great for stash busting. I used 9 different colours, but you can use single colour and single strand of worsted or bulky cotton yarn.

Materials

Cotton yarn DK weight in 9 colours or Worsted/bulky yarn in single colour.

5.5 mm crochet hook

Pair of scissors

Yarn needle

Abbreviations

US terminology

sl st = slip stitch

Notes:

  1. Use 0.5-1 mm  smaller hook than the size recommended on yarn label.
  2. Ch 1 does not count as a dc. Pull beg ch upto the height of dc and then start to work.
  3. Ch 4 counts as a dc and ch 1 sp.
  4. When crocheting base, join after rounds with sl st into 1st st.
  5. Sc rounds and worked in spiral without joining at the end of round.
