Aesira newborn mittens and booties

  Baby boy set made by Kari Boland Materials Worsted weight yarn (10-11 WPI) in 2 colours 5 mm crochet hook (or size needed to obtain gauge) Pair of scissors Yarn needle Gauge 13  hdc by 11 rows = 4” by 4” Abbreviations US terminology MC = main colour CC = contrasting colour ch = chain hdc = half double crochet hdc2tog = half double crochet 2 together sc = single crochet WS = wrong side RS = right side Special Stitches: Picot: ch 3, sl st in 3rd ch from the hook Modified hdc2tog: yarn over, insert hook in the next st, pull up a loop (3 loops on the hook), insert hook in the next st and pull up a loop (4 loops on the hook), yarn over, pull through all the 4 loops on the hook. Notes: Ch 1 does not count as a stitch DK yarn also works for this pattern. Just make sure you match the gauge. This set/mittens/botties can also be made for a baby boy.
